AIA Committee Meetings
AIA Honolulu committee meetings are open to all active AIA Honolulu members.
Mar 11: Code Committee Meeting: Revision to the Fire Code, 11:30am
No RSVP Needed! Last year this committee went through significant changes to the 2015 and 2018 IBC. We had several action items to follow up on with the fire department and for this meeting we have scheduled with them to go over those particular sections as well as having an update on revisions to the fire code. Socrates Bratakos, and several others from the fire department will be in attendance. These discussions may lead to amendments to the State Building Code so it is good to hear many opinions.
Mar 14: Housing Committee Meeting, 12pm-1pm
No RSVP Needed! Mel Kaneshige, project developer of Kahauiki Village and other multi-family affordable housing projects in Honolulu, will be speaking on March 14th with our group on affordable housing. This will provide an opportunity for anyone interested to provide feedback/suggestions to the City's continued efforts to adopt a modified affordable housing bill, as a follow up to Resolution 18-78, CD1.
Resolution 18-78, CD1 proposed amendments to Ch 21, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu 1990 (The Land Use Ordinance), relating to development in the Apartment, Apartment Mixed-Use, and Business Mixed-Use Districts to increase the supply of affordable rental housing in low-rise multi-family dwellings.
