Join us for a special evening featuring six films by the legendary Charles and Ray Eames, among the twentieth century's most enduringly influential designers and design thinkers.
Moderated and selected by Daniel Freidman, FAIA, Dean and ACSA Distinguished Professor at University of Hawaii, School of Architecture, the films include Design Q & A (1972, 5 min.), IBM at the Fair (1965, 8 min.), Fiberglass Chairs (1970, 9 min.), Goods (1971, 6 min.), and House After Five Years of Living (1955, 11 minutes).
Immediately following the presentation, award-winning architects and School of Architecture faculty members Karla Sierralta and Brian Strawn (Strawn+Sierralta) will offer commentary and questions about the Eamesʻs practice, legacy, and significance in a contemporary context.

ARE 5.0 Update!
The Architect Registration Examination (ARE) 4.0 is officially retired. Starting on October 1, 2018 ARE 5.0 will reference the newest version of the AIA Contract Documents and the 2015 International Building Code —which can be downloaded for free online.
Note the cost of each ARE 5.0 division will increase on Oct. 1, 2018.

AIA National
AIA Film Challenge: Submission Deadline August 27!
Architects and filmmakers are invited to collaborate in telling stories of projects done in partnership with civic leaders and the community. Civic leaders can include anyone from non-profit leaders and librarians, to mayors or local park directors.
Anyone who works or volunteers to promote the quality of life in their community is a civic leader. Submissions are due on August 27. Winners will be announced in October 2018. Learn more.
