Norman Hong, AIA Featured in Pacific Business News
Congratulations to AIA Honolulu member Norman Hong, AIA who is featured in an article in Pacific Business News, Executive Insight, titled "Tradition of service by design."
Norman Hong has always made time in his nearly 50-year career as an architect in Hawaii to give back to his profession, his community and his church, something he’s imparted to his son, fellow architect Chris Hong, and other young architects who join G70. Architect William Bates, FAIA, Inaugurated as 2019 AIA President
The AIA inaugurated William J. Bates, FAIA, as its 96th president on Friday, Dec. 7. “During my tenure as your president, and thereafter, I will focus on helping to make our profession one that welcomes and nurtures the talent of everyone who has a passion for design and who dreams of making our built world, and by extension our society, better,” said Bates. “My dream is for architects to lead efforts to create a more fair, sustainable and peaceful world that embraces all, and disenfranchises none.”

Payette Honored with 2019 AIA Architecture Firm Award
The Board of Directors and the Strategic Council of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) are honoring Boston-based Payette with the 2019 AIA Architecture Firm Award. The annual AIA Architecture Firm Award is the highest honor the AIA bestows on an architecture practice. The award recognizes a firm that has consistently produced distinguished architecture for at least 10 years. Read more >
2019 AIA Gold Medal Awarded to Lord Richard Rogers, Hon. FAIA

The Gold Medal honors an individual whose significant body of work has had a lasting influence on the theory and practice of architecture. Rogers is being recognized as his influence on the built environment has redefined an architect’s responsibilities to society. Read more >
Edward A. Vance, FAIA, Now Chancellor for the AIA COF
Edward A. Vance, FAIA, was inaugurated as the 57th Chancellor of the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) yesterday. Vance was elected Chancellor by members of the College of Fellows citing his leadership and service to the Institute, the profession of architecture and his community. He is the first chancellor to be named from the state of Nevada and only the third to come from the Western Mountain Region since the early 1950s. Vance’s engagement with AIA exemplifies how sustained service to the Institute advances the profession of architecture regionally and nationally. Read more >
