Join us as an attendee, sponsor, or exhibitor for the 19th Annual Hawaii Winter Workshop. The seminar takes place Monday, Jan. 14 & Tuesday, Jan. 15, 8am-4pm at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. Breakfast, lunch, and seminar packets are included with each registration

The workshop is designed to improve the skills and knowledge base of design, rehabilitation, and forensics professionals (consultants, architects, and engineers), developers, contractors, and building system manufacturers.  We welcome university and college level students to gain insights, industry exposure, and network with professionals.  The educational sessions will focus on innovation in building enclosure design and solutions by addressing aspects of manufacturing of products/systems, specification, installation, and building maintenance including investigation and repair.  The program comprises of ten, 75-minute presentations, an exhibitor zone, and network reception. Guides for Equitable Practice: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

AIA is committed to broadening equity, diversity, and inclusion to create a stronger profession. In partnership with the University of Minnesota, AIA has published the first three chapters of the Guides for Equitable Practice focusing on workplace culture, implicit bias, and compensation. The first three chapters of the guides have been released for AIA members and will be available to the public early next year.  Read them, discuss with colleagues, and email AIA to let them know what you think.  Learn more >

Gensler Diversity Scholarship — Apply today!

The Gensler Diversity Scholarship awards underrepresented and minority students enrolled in U.S. not-for-profit NAAB-accredited architecture programs with academic scholarships and summer internship opportunities. The first prize winner will receive $20,000, and the second prize winner receive $10,000 in scholarship. Apply >

Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship

AIA Fellow Sho-Ping Chin shaped the national discourse on women in design and co-founded the AIA Women's Leadership Summit. This $10,000 scholarship is awarded to a woman entering at least her third year of undergraduate study or any level of graduate study within an accredited architecture program. Apply >

Yann Weymouth Graduate Scholarship

This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student whose work demonstrates an exemplary focus at the design intersection of sustainability, resilience, wellness and beauty. Students in any level of graduate study within a NAAB-accredited architecture program are eligible. 

To help the scholarship recipient establish contacts within the profession and receive deeper insights about the field, they will be mentored by Yann Weymouth, AIA for the scholarship year.  Apply >

AIAS Event Update

Dec. 12: AIAS Presents Paper Architecture Night
You are invited to attend the AIAS Paper Architecture Night on Friday, Dec. 12, 6-9pm at the School of Architecture Courtyard for a Student Exhibition and Gingerbread Esquisse.  They will be showcasing work done by students and have a gingerbread house contest. Gingerbread house kits will be provided for a small donation of $10.
